Limited collection of personal information.

CMU LE collects personal information of CMU LE website users as necessary, such as name, surname, identification number, email, telephone number, etc. depending on the type of service you use through the CMU LE website, such as registration for a Joint Course, Short Course Program, or signup to participate in various activities made via the CMU LE website (https://www.lifelong.cmu.ac.th/)

CMU LE considers the data owner's consent following Section 19 of the Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562. It stipulates that personal data controllers cannot collect, use, or disclose personal information if the data owner does not consent before or at that time, except specified differently in this Act or other laws.
Record user information.

CMU LE records the information of CMU LE website users such as IP Address, date and time of entry-exit, and the type of browser programs, etc. CMU LE will use the information that has been recorded or collected for statistical analysis or to improve service quality.

The recording of such information follows Section 26, paragraph one of the Computer-Related Crime Act (Issue 2) B.E. 2560, which requires service providers to keep computer traffic data for at least 90 days from the date that data entered into the computer system. However, only when necessary, the responsible authorities may order the service provider to keep computer traffic data for more than 90 days but not more than two years as a special case for individual and occasions.
Use of personal information.

CMU LE collects, maintains, and uses your personal information for operation and service purposes as specified in the objectives and missions of CMU LE. Following Article 23 of the related Act, which stipulates that even if consent has been obtained for data collection, but when collecting personal information, the owner of the data must be informed of relevant details. Details include the purpose of the data collection, the data to be collected, and the expected time it will be collected, person or agency in which the information may be disclosed, data of operators and agents that collect data, contact location, and method of contact.

Besides, data owners' rights must be informed, for example, rights to access and requests for copies of information, right to object to data collection and data usage, right to request to delete or destroy data, right to request corrections, right to complain that there is a violation of personal information under this law, etc. CMU LE has taken this as an essential policy to protect personal information.
Restrictions on the use of personal information.

CMU LE will not allow the disclosure or display or make it appear in any other way of personal information that is not consistent with the purpose of data collection and storage except with the data owner's consent or the case that the law stipulates. It is per Section 21 of the Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562

CMU LE will not disclose your personal information to third parties for use in unrelated activities such as the offering of telephone health insurance. Product sales via telephone, etc.
Security for personal information.

CMU LE uses appropriate security measures to protect personal information, such as preventing loss, access, destruction, use, alteration, or disclosure of information illegally.

CMU LE has restricted access to personal information to relevant personnel and requires CMU LE outsourced-contractors to maintain users' data confidentiality and security by prohibiting the use of data other than those specified for action as per Section 27, paragraph 2 of the Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562
Recommendations for securing personal information.

When you register for the CMU LE electronic service, you will receive a User ID and Password for logging in to the CMU LE system. You are responsible for securing your User ID and password strictly. Do not disclose the said information to other persons. You should change your password regularly, and every time you have finished using the service, you should click "Sign out" to prevent others from making transactions from your account.
