This subject will provide comprehensive overview about vernacular houses around Southeast Asia which are well-known in the world due to their identical characteristics. Throughout the course, the learner will be able to understand overall picture of the regional typologies of architecture. Meanwhile, they will be able to explore extensively the built heritage of diverse ethnic groups in both peninsula and archipelagos. The learners will be able to capture the sense of cultural distribution of houses through an interactive cultural mapping of house forms, dig deeper into their profound physical characteristics and explore the colorful varieties of social lifeways of Southeast Asian people as if they travel to see themselves.
